According to the problems in the list of questionnaires of the auditing agency, and the rectification of the problems existing in some factories, two major categories of occupational health and safety hazards of GRS certification are as follows:
1. Health hazard
Is the electrical system regularly inspected and maintained to meet industry standards?
Are there any significant cracks or other deformations in the building's pillars, gauges, walls or stairs?
Does the facility implement projects to identify, evaluate, and control mechanical safety hazards (eg, presses, cutters, etc.)?
Is there a designated person responsible for mechanical safety?
Is the production machine regularly inspected and maintained?
Does the machine have an emergency stop switch in the right place?
2. Occupational hazard
Is there a procedure to record work-related injuries and accidents?
Is the first aid kit adequately supplied?
Have there been work-related injuries in the past, did the facility conduct an investigation to determine the root cause, and implemented documented corrective actions?
Does the facility/procedure implemented by the facility identify, evaluate, and control tasks that require physical effort, such as manual operations, heavy lifting, highly repetitive work, and other physical work to prevent work-related injuries?
If personal health protection products (PPE) are required to control health and safety hazards, such as goggles, safety shoes, helmets, earplugs, face shields, skin protectors, etc. Does the facility provide employees with such equipment?
Does the facility pay all employees for these personal protective equipment?
