The Higg Index is a sustainable tool designed to assess the environmental and social impact of apparel and footwear. The Higg Index is launched by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), an industry group with its members covering above one-third of of the global apparel and footwear market.
Higg is open to all industries and is a sustainable development tool supported by the brand.
The brand adopts the results of the factory self-assessment or follow up on the concerns.
The goals of the Sustainable Apparel Alliance are:
Understand and quantify the sustainability impact of apparel and footwear products.
Greatly reduce the measurement of sustainability in the redundant apparel and footwear industry.
Drive business value by reducing risk and exposing efficiency.
Establish common communication pathways for sustainability with stakeholders.
