Many people are still relatively unfamiliar with the ICS audit. It is not as common as the BSCI audit and the SEDEX audit. ICS is also a database, similar to BSCI and SEDEX. The ICS audit is primarily aimed at direct suppliers of non-food consumer products from the state. So far, ICS has been open to other French retailers.
ICS audits and other audits have certain similarities. They also impose certain requirements on child labor, wage hours, discrimination, freedom, and responsibility. According to the ICS Convention, children under 15 are child laborers, and 15 years old are labor organization regulations. The boundaries, of course, the local regulations are also endless. The ICS audit also has certain requirements for employee freedom to ensure that all employees work and live in an open and free environment.
The ICS audit designated auditing companies are: BV, SGS, ITS, AI.
The content of the audit of the audit is: social responsibility, such as child labor, discrimination, freedom of association, working hours, salary, health and safety.
The audit rating is: A, B, C, D. Most customers accept C; some customers accept B, which is difficult to achieve in general A-level factories.
As stated in the ICS specification, the goal of the ICS program is to promote and support all social, health/safety-related continuous improvements; the content relates to the full working conditions of the ICS member factories. The ICS specification explains the core requirements for ICS members, and the “industry conduct” that the members themselves are free to follow may stipulate additional or improved terms.
The main conclusions of all audits initiated by ICS members will be registered in the ICS database and resource sharing will be done among ICS members to avoid unnecessary duplication of audits.
